....so. I didn't win Norma's Spanish manga contest. According to Inma, this year's winners were all shounen stories (my story was a fairytale, so...). But she did say the editor of Norma wants to contact me about a tutorial/artbook kind of project they're making. That would be nice~

Next step: I'll try contacting Pika (French manga publisher). They're one of the biggest publishers and have published mangas from all around Europe. If that doesn't work either, I'll try Viz...It's just that I worked so hard with my story idea and characters and everything - I don't want it to go to waste...

......yes, I am very disappointed. But I could kinda see it coming. Oh well, life goes on and I do hope a new door will open for me, somewhere. Plus at least I'll have time to work on everything else (doujinshis, commissions, prints...) and feel less stressed. ^^

Disney: I grew up on Disney movies. The classics, you know? Sleeping Beauty, Aladdin, The Little Mermaid, Pocahontas, Lion King...none of the Pixar crap they are giving children today. Fluorite brothers: funny one...I always wondered what's it like to have a twin, given I don't have any sibblings to begin with. Also, the facts I heard during my Psychology classes, that twins can feel somehow if something happens to the other even if they are on two opposite sides of the Earth, always intrigued me. I found it interesting and when I found out Fai had a twin (I was always guessing for him to have a sister, but a twin? - that was kinda shocking), my head went spiralling back to those classes. And the so called "bond of twins". I find it amazing and like to wonder about it a lot and come up with ideas...and how twins live through life knowing there is a mirror image of themselves. All the psychological background to it...it's just fascinating to me. That's why I'm so obsessed with these two and their behavior - especially in Horitsuba, where both are alive. o_o

Red eyes: hmm....red eyes mean two things to me:
1) a strong spirit and fire in one's soul (i.e. Kurogane)
2) + white hair = a mysterious person. A bit empty as well, maybe...my main characters (twins =w= a boy and a girl) in my story that I sent to Norma's contest have red eyes and white hair, exactly because of this.

Lola: Lola Bunny. The character the got me into a crazy drawing rampage to begin with, at the age of 10. I will never forget those times - the cramp in my wrist because I spent whole days long drawing a didn't want to stop. Haha, good times...<3 Of course I loved drawing ever since I could hold a pencil in my hand, but Lola set the yellow brick road before me which I still keep walking - and will do until death, hopefully.

Destiny:.....I don't know what to do with this concept. I usually don't believe in it. I like to believe that whatever I do will decide my future - and only I alone can control it. ...which crumbles when I think about situations where I did my best and still things went wrong an I know it was out of my grasp to control it. "It was meant to be..." - I experienced some things in life that, when I think back on it, maybe they did happen for a reason.
Good example: after finishing high-school I wanted to go study tourism in university. But I didn't get accepted so I went to a 2-year course in the field. And realized that that's really not what I want to do...so then I went to study Japanese in uni and I am still glad about that decision. So I didn't waste 5 years studying tourism (only 2, haha. but I hope that certificate will come in handy sometime).
...Or the fact that I didn't have the possibility to study art abroad...or even here in Budapest. I AM SO GLAD. For one thing: I don't want it to be my primary career. Yeah, I want to make money off it whenever I can but only when I want to. As a freelance artist. As a guest artist. It means less pressure. And although pressure sometimes motivates me to work, I simply crumble under to much pressure. And the abroad stuff: thank god I didn't go. I would have lost something very precious, had I gone abroad at the time....
Destiny...I like to shove this concept into the back of my mind and not think about it because if i believe in it, it means no matter what I do, some "higher force" can do whatever it wants to my life and my future and that thought scares me. Then again I know some things our out of my control...so I just move on in life knowing I do my best, and the rest....well, time can only tell.

Despite people usually hating the anime - I liked it. A lot. Not having read the manga probably helped there but...I loved the animation, the MUSIC, the seiyuus...and I couldn't stop bawling at the end. And I actually liked the fact it ended...where it did (not gonna write spoilers) because after that event, the manga actually goes on. And I don't like that thought. e_e ...like in Death Note (if you read both, you'll get it).

FFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFF DAMMIT, why so expensive???? D: Daaaaaaaaaaamn, I love BRS, I love Huke's works of art, I wanted an artbook and this is all they give me? 8000 yen for 32 pages? Gimme a break. =_= (not to mention I just spent a fortune on a bunch of Hetalia doujinshis...ahaha...orz *fail*) I found even 5000 yen for a Keiichi Sumi artbook too much, which is out of print and has some 100 pages. >_>; And that's not all - Celga would put some 15$ on it due to commission and so on. Meh...

In other news: ....I dunno. Well, we have a long weekend due to a national holiday and stuff. Also, I probably won't have clases on Wednesday due to some conference the uni is making...thank god. After this shitty week, uni is the last place I want to be right now...

 One week has past since I got my new computer and I already have to take it back because...

1. the cooling system makes weird noises a.k.a. it's overheating
2. I get error messages such as NTFS (or whatever it is) and "disk lacks consistency"

People on dA suggested I get it checked asap because it's a serious problem.

This sucks, I hate technology. orz

So, my computer unexpectedly crashed yesterday. o_o Which meant only one thing: R.I.P.
It's been dying for half a year now...

So we took it down to have it fixed to our friends' computer store. They couldn't turned it back on either. So I told them "alright, I'm buying a new one. :O"

So here I am, with a shiny new processor, winchester, etc.~ <3
My virtual memory is now 4GB and can be added later up to 8 GB (old one was 2 GB and you couldn't add more). I also got an extra 500 GB diskspace added to my old one which was 150 GB total. And they installed some super-new version of Windows called "Win7". o.o it's newer than Vista even! Works pretty nicely so far. Ah, they also changed my video cards, etc....pretty much everything.

I'm very happy because all this means I won't have any problem (hopefully) working in several painting programs at the same time, at high resolution and so on (which was my biggest problem up till now).

...but this also means all my money was spent that I put off to buy a mini Japanese dictionary palmtop. Oh well. orz
